I wished to do a tribute to one of my great heroes, Gypsy guitar genius Django Reinhardt. My dream of a fiery gypsy girl was answered by then 18 year old Madeleine Horn, who was born to play this role.

To purists, I apologize in advance for a lack of accuracy in guitar brands. I had access to a Selmer Maccaferri when I planned the shoot, but it was sold and left the country before I could make use of it.

The instrument is an early 1950's Commander, made in Germany and I chose it for it's vintage look and the gaudy finishing touches. It looked like a gypsy guitar to me.
